I only got a magnetic pin cushion recently and I absolutely love it. Whenever I sew my pins would fly onto the floor, and into crevices in the dining room table, and it was a hazard. I kept on stepping on them and it was horrible. But with a magnetic pin cushion, they don’t roll away anymore and it’s so convenient to not step on pins 24/7.

I used to just use household scissors for all my projects, and I didn’t realize how much easier it is to cut fabric with real sewing scissors. Sewing scissors cut so much smoother and straighter and I love it so so much, and it makes my pants-making process 10x easier.

• Stencils

Stencils have really helped me cut out the shirt patches evenly and make them all the same size, and it’s really improved the quality of my pants. My patches used to be all lopsided and different sizes, and now that they’re all even, my pants look sooooo much better.
